bittorrent was invented in 2001 to help solve the file-sharing problem. many users needed to share large files with each other but didn't want to deal with downloading and uploading files. bram cohen wanted a way to share files that didn't depend on the bandwidth of individual filesharing users.

torrents have become a popular way to share large files with others in a peer-to-peer fashion. a torrent file is a big file that contains a list of files (or pieces) that the file is divided into. users who have the torrent file can download the pieces of the file from other peers on the network.
krita is a free and open-source raster graphics editor designed primarily for digital painting and 2d animation. it features an opengl-accelerated canvas, colour management support, an advanced brush engine, non-destructive layers and masks (similar to adobe photoshop), group-based layer management, vector artwork support and switchable customisation profiles. it is written in c++ using qt and runs on linux, macos and windows.
to keep your bittorrent client up to date, you must add a tracker. a tracker is a computer program that keeps track of all the peers (others using the same piece of the file) on the network. when you add a torrent, it will ask you if you want to allow it to connect to a tracker. if you answer yes, it will tell you where to find that tracker. if you answer no, it will automatically use a port you chose for your tracker when it was set up. if you use a public tracker, you might be asked to verify your address. while you might be able to use a private tracker, using one means that you are putting your identity on the line, giving others the ability to subpoena your identity if they decide to. if you're not sure where to find a tracker, you can use your bittorrent client's built-in search function to find some.
