Gunner HEAT PC
Im not so sure. The gunnery is tight. The armour modelling is tight. The AI is passable. Yes, it sometimes does some dumb things when being shot at, in confined positions. But not so far have I seen anything that says its completely wrong.
But of course, the best AI is the one that you don't notice. You want silent competence in cooperation, and a challenge in confrontation that can still be bested. You must not have obvious cheating for a scalable AI. Peoiple want a challenge, but they also want to be rewarded for their skill (I'm looking at you, rubber-banding driver AI in Need for Speed).
Perhaps the simplest kind of contemporary tank munition, the High Explosive round relies primarily on its explosive charge and fragmenting case to cause damage to lightly armored or unarmored targets. HE rounds unleash dense fragment clouds, strong concussive overpressure waves, and plenty of heat and noise. They come in a wide variety of specific configurations, including HE-Frag, which is designed to produce maximum fragmentation debris, or APHE (armor piercing high explosive), which is built extra sturdy to defeat a certain amount of armor before exploding. HE rounds often also have impact fuses with a tiny amount of delay, so if they punch through an obstacle, they can fly into the protected space before detonation.
If you wish to change the time of day during a mission, try using the developer cheat shortcuts (comma and period keys)! You can try day, night, or anything in between, in any mission. The AI will even adjust their vision to match.
The auxiliary sights on the M60 and M1 tanks can be accessed via the view change button (default: C). They are equipped with ballistic reticles that are automatically changed by the gunner to suit the loaded ammunition type. Like most simple scope reticles, you can also illuminate them (default: I).
Yeah, lot of stuff still to add but the core game mechanics seem pretty solid and get the classic era Microprose balance right between realism and fun realism - e.g. having the ready rack/hull storage distinction for ammo but allowing you to shift between commander and gunner by a single press. 041b061a72
